As he got older in age, Ed was known as quite a story teller. One of his favorite intros when you knew a good story was coming was “You’re not going to believe what happened to me today.” One day after one such opening, Ed told me of a young lady that had come to the marina that very day and requested a fresh redfish. Ed said he raised the fish tank holding several large reds and took one out and put it on the pier. He said it was flopping around all over the pier and he was having a difficult time trying to chop off its head with a hatchet.
“Then,” he said with a look of disbelief, “that lady came up to me and asked if I was sure that red was fresh!”
